Permasalahan sampah rumah tangga masih menjadi tantangan dalam upaya peningkatan kesehatan lingkungan masyarakat. Pengelolaan Sampah Tingkat Rumah Tangga dilaksanakan di Desa Sakay, Kecamatan Totikum, Kabupaten Banggai Kepulauan dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat melalui pendekatan partisipatif. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 62 responden yang terdiri dari aparat desa, tokoh masyarakat, dan kelompok pengelola sampah. Metode yang digunakan adalah desain pre-eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest, melalui penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, serta evaluasi pengetahuan dan sikap sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, serta evaluasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat kategori baik dari 29,0% pada pre-test menjadi 91,9% pada post-test. Sikap positif masyarakat juga meningkat dari 98,4% menjadi 100%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan berbasis komunitas efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah tingkat rumah tangga. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih, sehat, dan berkelanjutan.
The problem of household waste remains a challenge in efforts to improve community environmental health. Household Waste Management was implemented in Sakay Village, Totikum District, Banggai Islands Regency with the aim of improving community knowledge and attitudes through a participatory approach. This activity involved 62 respondents consisting of village officials, community leaders, and waste management groups. The method used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, through counseling, interactive discussions, and evaluation of knowledge and attitudes before and after the activity. The activity stages included preparation, implementation of counseling, interactive discussions, and evaluation. The results showed an increase in community knowledge in the good category from 29.0% in the pre-test to 91.9% in the post-test. The community's positive attitude also increased from 98.4% to 100%. These results indicate that community-based counseling is effective in increasing community literacy and awareness of household waste management. This program is expected to become a model for community empowerment in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.
